more washable sanitary towels

I was thinking that the flannel we use for the sanitary towels in Destiny should be dark colours. Black or red would be perfect, because there would be no stains. In Kenya it is really hard to find flannel in any other colour but pink and light blue. I asked my mom if we could dye the flannel, and sure enough, we could. She got dye colour and here is a few images of me dying the fabric.

It's quite hard work, because you have to stir the pot for minimum 20 minutes. It all came out really nice!
