swedish society

Today I worked hard. I set up all the things the Swedish society was going to sell for a Kenyan production "a Doctor in spite of himself" by Moliére in the Swedish school. First, we thought that nobody would come and se the play, but after a while many people came, both Swedish and Kenyan, to see the play and buy snacks from me. I didn't see the whole play, but people seemed to appreciate it. I sold quite a lot of drinks and snacks, and helped clean up after.

Moving

We are moving soon. I'm going to take my old clothes, books and games and give them away. I'm thinking that the best thing is to split everything in two, and give half to Oakland school in Rongai and the rest to Excellent school. It will probably be better to give my clothes to Excellent, because those kids are older, and everything that would be good for small kids to Rongai. I'm going to try to sort everything out this week, because we are moving on April 1st. It is going to be great to visit both schools and give it to the kids personally. I'm also going to stay overnight one day with Max and Mercy so I can help Mercy early in the morning in Oakland school. She says that the kids will be excited to have a "Muzungu" (White person) helping out.

Knitting project done

I'm ready with my big knitting project. The scarf is very nice and thick. I don't feel that I'll be able to use it for a while because the weather in Nairobi is very hot right now. I think the rain period is going to start soon. Las week I was in Sout Africa and Swaziland for the election in Kenya. I took a domestic flight to Nesbruit, where my friend and her dad picked me up. Going across the Swazi border, the controller asked my friends dad what tribe I was from. Very funny! I also got some Kudu biltong, which I really liked. When I came back to South Africa, my brother stole my biltong. In the hotel in Pretoria, where I was left off, the president hd a convention. I never saw him, but I noticed all the guards and police around. It is nice to be back home. In april we are moving to a new house so the coming month is going to be very busy.

Usher at the Fringe Festival

My brother is directing a play for the Fringe Festival. I've helped him a bit by taking photos and filming the play. Ms Hargreaves wanted me to be an usher, so I worked two nights with collecting tickets and showing the audience where to go. The last day, I also got to play a dead body under a bloody towel. It was fun, but hard work.
